Attended the UKHSA Air Strategy Conference
As luck would have it, this really significant Indoor Air Quality event was happening in Bristol. So I made sure I got the chance to attend. Professor Sani Dimitroulopoulou gave a fascinating keynote speech on the history of Indoor Air Pollution.
According to Max Von Pettenkofer (1818-1902) air is not fit for us to breathe, if the CO2 is over 1000ppm. So that’s interesting given that densely packed classrooms are often routinely exceeding that threshold!
I did get the chance to publicly ask the Health & Safety Executive, who happened to be attending, when we were going to see regulation of Indoor Air Quality. Most of the conference was on the topic of woodburning and road pollution, so just having the chance to draw attention to this issue, was welcome.
